The new neutral shade. Well its not that new, I first discovered it about 6 months ago but i didn't have a blog to share it then so here it is now! Better late then never.. although that's not a fashion rule i usually recommend!! The shade is Chanel 505. Rimmel Steel Grey is a good alternative, and the quick dry really is quick dry. I bought a typical bright red last month to match my tights with a red seem and the rimmel pro brush made it so easy! I painted both hands red in about 2 mins, the pro brush was so precise and easy.

What I'm after in a polish right now..
I want a super metallic gold. So metallic its almost like a plastic stick on nail in gold. I bought a gold polish about 3 years ago but never like it, as it just comes out a watery gold with a shimmer affect. I'm after a hard core gold. I like this affect but its silver not gold! Feel free to point me in the right direction.
I dance in a company 'Sirens Dance Company' The members are all very different stylistically. I wore a pastel yellow polish a month or 2 ago, knowing one of these women would tell me they hated the color. Sure enough 5 minutes into rehearsal Rachel said to me 'I have to tell you; no offence, i hate that polish. We both crack up laughing, I love her honesty and I love that it in no way changes my opinion of the color!
With spring around the corner the pastels are not going anywhere just yet. The infamous yellow from rehearsal is australis rub-a-dub-dub(Yes that's right, aussie girls from the 80's and 90's Australis!! It was probably your first ever make up kit with that comforting cake meets chalk smell. I'll also paint on Chanel Jade green.

These pastels are not for the faint hearted, they are just for fun! First you might think they look weird or only look good on other people. If you take it with a pinch of salt and a clear shiny top coat its a great way to have a little fun with color. If you are in the mood for something dark, try OPI Russian navy, looks black at first but surprises you with purple flecks through-out the navy, or deliciously dark rimmel.
Eve Smith - Model, DJ, Dancer all round world dominater! Loving the pastel purple

At home Manicure tips:
I highly recommend the rimmel pro maxi brush.Or any brushes that a flat.
Don't try cover the entire nail leave a millimeter around the edge of your finger nail.
Have your hair dryer handy to speed the drying process (hanging out the car window and air con vent are good alternatives if you're on the move!)
Do 2 coats and leave the clear top coat until the next morning to prevent those annoying bubbles.
Don't do them before bed or you will get bed creases.
Hair spray after application and drying time (15 mins at least) speeds the hard fastening of the polish and can prevent chipping.
If dark colors have stained your nails soak in lemon juice, or just leave them polish free for a day or two.
Have fun with colors; they can vanish in a flash!!
